This was last Sunday, at the Salle Wilfrid-Pelletier at the Place-des-Art in downtown Montréal.
Nana Mouskouri is on her farewell tour, and she's traveling the country from east to west. Earlier this week, she was in Québec City, and now this is her stop in Montréal.
On stage, she didn't has changed up. She's still pretty much like you've been remembering her.
What can I say? 3 hours of sheer delight. A lot of her hits, there were some songs sang in English, and she also sang a few songs from her country (Greece).
One finicky ear would notice that at a few times, it was audible that her voice is no longer at her prime. Considering the circumstances, she's 75, this is her farewell tour, the mind does its usual trick on over-compensating for those little imperfections, and so it just went unnoticed, and that's the way it should be!
She didn't sing only of her songs. She did a few local ones. For instance, she did a vibrant and very touching rendition of "Un Canadien Errant". It is difficult to refrain to shed some tears. She really got the soul of that poor errant Canadian, and his pain.
Our verdict is unanimous: We love it!
PS: When going to such shows, for the fun of it, I often try to gage the crowd.
I hate to say there were lots of 40+ people like us, but to my surprise (and a pleasant one!), there were some teens and young adults.
And they say that kids do not like music for (ahem!) grown ups. Not so!
Now, if those FM radio station owners would take notice. Especially for their *daytime* playlist.

To those who want to see Nana, I _think_ it's over for Nana in Montréal, but she'll be later this week in Ottawa, then next week in Toronto and Hamilton, and she'll finish her tour in Victoria, British-Columbia on May 16th. If you like Mouskouri song, this is your last chance to see her in person. Check the local listings, as they say.
